Whether you’re reaching the recommended interval, enhancing your vehicle’s performance, or addressing a misfire problem, changing spark plugs is crucial for igniting the fuel-air mixture within your Hyundai i30N’s combustion chamber. To effortlessly replace them in your Hyundai i30N, just follow these straightforward six steps outlined below.

Tools needed:

• Ratchet with an extension bar
• Standard 10mm socket (for bolts)
• 10mm spark plug socket

Note: If you car has a tune, HKS iridium spark plugs come highly recommended within the i30N community.

Step 1: Remove the 10mm bolts that are holding down each coil pack.

Step 2: Disconnect the switch on each coil and then gently pull out all 4 packs from each channel. Note, if you’re not replacing your coil packs then you can skip disconnecting the switch.

Step 3: Using a 10mm spark plug socket, remove all 4 spark plugs.

Step 4: Put your new spark plug into the socket and gently lower it back into place. Ensure you go in as straight as possible and tighten it by hand first to avoid cross-threading.

Step 5: Then, snug up your spark plugs with a ratchet and remember not to over tighten them.

Then, install your new coil packs simply install your new parts in reverse order.

Remember: Gently tighten each spark plug in by hand to avoid cross threading. Then once you’re happy, attach your ratchet and give each plug around half-turn to snug them into place.
