If you notice your BMW requiring closer proximity for unlocking or locking, it could indicate a low battery. In this simple guide we’ll show you how to replace the CR2450 battery with ease.

Tools needed:

• Flat head screw driver
• CR2450 battery

Step 1: Start by pressing the button on the lower backside to release the key.

Step 2: Push down on this tab with your screw driver to pop the backside of the fob off.

Step 3: Gently lever the old battery out from the fob and replace with your new CR2450 battery.

Step 4: Snap your back case on to seal the fob. Note that the back case has a tab at the bottom that needs to go into the fob first.

Step 5: Insert your key back into the fob and you’re done!
