It is common knowledge that, over time, the gear knob caps on VW Passats see their fair share of wear. Fortunately, they’re easy to replace with a new one by simply using a plastic pry tool and your hands. Below, we will show you the simple steps to do so.

Tools needed:

• Plastic pry tool

Step 1: Slot your plastic pry tool in between the gap as shown below to lift the cap slightly.

Step 2: Then with your hand, gently pull upwards to remove it.

Step 3: Then, simply push on your new cap and you’re all set!
