How to easily change your key fob battery on a 2003 MK4 VW Golf. All you’ll need is a flat head screw driver and a new CR2032 battery.

Step 1: flip out the key to gain access to the small slot in the middle of the key shown below.

Step 2: Slot your flat head screw driver and gently twist to slide the key apart.

Step 3: Pull the key apart and then pull the lower half apart to reveal your battery.

Step 4: With a smaller flat head screw driver, flick out your old battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery.

Step 5: Do everything in reverse order and you’re all set!
