In this guide we’ll show you how to easily change drop links on your Peugeot 208, at home, with the right tools.

Tools needed:

  • 17mm socket/spanner/wrench
  • Torque ratchet
  • Pliers
  • Hammer
  • Jack stands
  • Trolley jack

Step 1: Safely jack up the car on axle stands and remove the wheel.

Step 2: Place your trolley jack underneath the lower ball joint and slowly raise your suspension to approx ride height.

Step 3: Crack the 17mm bolt on the top and bottom of the drop link.

Step 4: With your pliers, hold the metal edge by the ball joint rubber boot to stop it spinning. and begin to remove the top and bottom bolts.

Please note: Your drop links may be under a bit of pressure so they wont just pull out by hand. Make sure they’re lined up as best as possible, and then if you can pull them out by hand, tap the thread with a hammer to encourage them out.

Step 5: Do everything else in reverse and torque the bolts to 40nm (29.5 ft-lbs).
