If you want to change your spark plugs, whether it’s because you’ve hit the recommended interval, you’re upgrading your vehicle’s performance, or you’re dealing with a misfire issue, it’s important to understand the critical role that spark plugs play in igniting the fuel-air mixture inside the engine’s combustion chamber. To replace them on your Audi/VW 2.0 petrol engine, you can follow these six simple steps below.

Step 1: Disconnect the 4 connectors at the back of each coil pack and slide them back.

Step 2: Pull your coil packs straight up using even pressure.

Step 3: Using a magnetic spark plug socket, remove each of your spark plugs.

Step 4: With your new spark plugs (NGK being a good, common replacement) hand tighten them in first.

Step 5: Using your spark plug socket, torque each one in at 25nm.

Step 6: Finally, drop your new Bosch coil packs in and reconnect the connectors and you’re good to go.

Note: Ensure all connectors clip into place correctly.
